The Round 16 action in the FKF Women’s Premier League kicks off this Saturday, February 14, 2026, with three exciting fixtures lined up across the country.

With the season entering a decisive phase, teams will be looking to secure crucial points as the race for the title and survival intensifies.

Saturday action

The first clash will see Soccer Assassins take on Kisped Queens at Nyang’ori Boys Grounds from 1:00 pm. At the same time, Kisumu All Starlets will battle Gideon Starlets at Mamboleo Stadium, also kicking off at 1:00 pm local time.

The lakeside clash presents an opportunity for the hosts to capitalise on home support despite having a rough season, while Gideon Starlets will be keen to upset their opponents on the road.

Later in the day, Kibera Soccer Women will square off against Kayole Starlets at Marist Grounds in Karen, Nairobi. The match is scheduled for a 4:00 pm kickoff.

Meanwhile, as the FKF Women’s Premier League action continues this weekend amid numerous challenges bedevilling the league, Football Kenya Federation President Hussein Mohammed has committed to developing women’s football in the country amid signs of growth in regional and global competitions.

Speaking during the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Executive Committee Meeting in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, on Friday, February 13, 2026, Mohammed said women’s football in Kenya is the next big thing in sports that needs to be taken seriously.

Developing the game

”Women’s football is the next big thing; we have to take it seriously, as it is a huge space for us to start exploiting. There are a lot of opportunities in women’s football. There are a lot of sponsors who want to come on board and support women’s football, and as a federation, we are committed to making sure that we do not miss this chance,” the FKF boss noted.

Clubs participating in the Women’s Premier, unlike their male counterparts, experience grave financial challenges that hamper smooth logistical operations and salary provisions owing to a lack of sponsorship.
