FKF issues ruling on Gor Mahia match which was abandoned due to chaos

The FKF Leagues and Competitions Committee has issued its rulings on two abandoned SportPesa League fixtures involving Nairobi United FC vs Gor Mahia FC and Ulinzi Stars FC vs Murang’a SEAL FC.
The committee upheld a 1–1 draw in the Nairobi United FC vs Gor Mahia FC match. The particular match was abandoned deep into the second half after a violent altercation between the two teams’ sets of fans ensued on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at Dandora Stadium in Nairobi.
Condemning hooliganism
Shortly after the incident, in a statement posted on its Facebook page on Monday, December 22, 2025, Nairobi United expressed remorse for the events that unfolded and conveyed condolences to fans affected by the skirmishes.
“Nairobi United Football Club strongly condemns the acts of hooliganism witnessed today at Dandora Stadium during our match against Gor Mahia FC,” part of the club statement read.
“We are deeply concerned by reports of fans who were injured during the incident, as well as those whose properties were damaged
Our thoughts and sympathies are with everyone affected. The safety and well-being of players, football fans, and all other football stakeholders must always come first.” It added.
In the Friday, January 30, 2026 ruling, the Ulinzi Stars FC vs Murang’a SEAL FC fixture was awarded to Murang’a SEAL FC. Matters relating to misconduct and any applicable sanctions have been referred to the FKF Disciplinary Committee.
The FKF Leagues and Competitions Committee (LCC) has concluded its deliberations on two abandoned SportPesa League fixtures and issued the following rulings:
Nairobi United FC vs Gor Mahia FC (Match No. 132)
The Committee ruled that the match was abandoned due to force majeure. In accordance with the FKF Rules and Regulations, the result at the time of abandonment has been upheld as a 1–1 draw. Matters relating to misconduct during the match have been referred to the FKF Disciplinary Committee for further action where applicable.
Ulinzi Stars FC vs Murang’a SEAL FC (Match No. 162)
The Committee determined that the match was abandoned following Ulinzi Stars FC’s refusal to resume play. As per the FKF Rules and Regulations, the match has been awarded to Murang’a SEAL FC, with the official result recorded as Ulinzi Stars FC 0–2 Murang’a SEAL FC. The case has been forwarded to the FKF Disciplinary Committee and the Referees Committee for further consideration of applicable sanctions.
