Premier League opening fixtures for 2026/27 season released: Who will Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea play?
The fixtures for the opening weekend of the 2026/27 Premier League season have been released.
Title-holders Arsenal will open their title defence with a home clash against newcomers Coventry City Football Club. The Gunners will welcome City at the Emirates on Friday, August 21, 2027.

Meanwhile, Brentford will welcome Tottenham Hotspur a day later on Saturday, August 23, 2026. Other opening fixtures include Manchester United, who travel to Hull City on the same day.
On Sunday, both Liverpool and Manchester City will be in action. Liverpool’s first match under Andoni Iraola, who took over the reins from Arne Slot, is a trip away at Newcastle, as City, who are yet to confirm Pep Guardiola’s successor, play AFC Bournemouth.
Chelsea under Alonso
Chelsea will kick off Xabi Alonso’s tenure with a short trip to West London to face Fulham on Monday, August 24, 2026.
The former Bayer Leverkusen coach is among the new faces to headline the touchline for the next season after agreeing to a deal to become the Blues’ next boss.
Meanwhile, London rivals Arsenal and Chelsea will face off on September 5, 2026, in the first derby as the Blues travel to the Emirates for the matchup.

Seven days later, the Manchester Derby will be on the cards as Michael Carrick leads out the red half of United against City on September 12, 2026, at Old Trafford.
The first North London Derby will happen at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on December 5, 2026, as Arsenal face local arch-rivals Spurs. Chelsea will also host Liverpool on the same day at their Stamford Bridge base.
The North London return derby will come in the final month of the 2026/27 season on May 1, 2027.
