New season, new look! Erling Haaland ditches long blonde hair for different hairstyle

Football star Erling Haaland is set to sport a whole new look for the new English Premier League season after officially cutting off his signature long blonde hair.
The Manchester City star took to his social media on Sunday, August 23, 2026, to unveil his new hairstyle, stunning the world after going for a completely different look—a buzz cut, trimming the hair close to the scalp to a uniform length all over.
“Short hair, don’t care,” he captioned an image of his new look on X.

The move generated quite a buzz online after the striker showed his former boss Pep Guardiola his new haircut through FaceTime on Saturday. On seeing the new hair, an astonished Pep joked, “You’re lucky you have hair. I’d love to have yours.” Zlatan Ibrahimović had a disappointed verdict, wondering whether Haaland had lost a bet to opt for such a decision.

The revelation comes just a few hours before Manchester City’s debut in the new Premier League season, where Enzo Maresca’s team will begin their campaign against AFC Bournemouth on Sunday.
The lethal striker is angling for his fifth season with the Cityzens since joining the club from Borussia Dortmund. For Haaland, it marks the first time he will be sporting a look like the one he had during the start of his career at Molde in Norway.
EPL start
Since joining Manchester City in the summer of 2022, Erling Haaland has established himself as one of football’s most prolific goalscorers, shattering multiple long-standing records in the process.
In his debut 2022/23 campaign, he led the club to a historic European Treble, winning the Premier League, FA Cup, and UEFA Champions League—while setting the record for the most goals in a single Premier League season with 36 strikes.

He followed up his historic debut year by capturing back-to-back Premier League Golden Boots, multiple league titles, and key international hardware like the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup. Having crossed 100 Premier League goals faster than any player in history, Haaland continues to anchor Manchester City’s attack as their premier goal-scoring force.
He is also among the big-name stars who lit up the 2026 World Cup, scoring four goals on his debut with Norway en route to their quarterfinal elimination against England.
