Manchester United have confirmed a 25-player travelling squad for Friday, July 24, 2026, pre-season friendly against Norwegian champions Rosenborg in Trondheim.

The Red Devils departed for Norway on Thursday ahead of the match at Lerkendal Stadium, with kick-off scheduled for 5:00 pm BST (8:00 pm EAT). It will be United’s second successive summer meeting with Rosenborg after the sides also faced off in Trondheim during the 2024 pre-season campaign.

United head into the encounter looking to bounce back from a narrow 1-0 defeat to Wrexham in Helsinki, where they began their preparations for the 2026/27 season. Michael Carrick’s side rotated the entire starting XI at half-time during that match to ensure every available player received valuable minutes.

New signing Andrey Santos made his unofficial debut against Wrexham, featuring in the opening half before being substituted alongside the rest of the starting lineup.

The squad travelling to Norway remains largely unchanged from the group that featured in Finland. The only alteration sees promising youngster JJ Gabriel included in place of Ethan Wheatley.

Several senior stars are part of the travelling party, including Harry Maguire, Mason Mount, Joshua Zirkzee, Luke Shaw and Leny Yoro. Summer arrival Bryan Mbeumo has also been included as he continues to settle into life at Old Trafford.

Young talents such as Chido Obi, Harry Amass, Shea Lacey, Toby Collyer, Jack Fletcher and Tyler Fletcher have also earned places in the squad, underlining the club’s commitment to giving academy prospects opportunities during pre-season.

Manchester United will use the fixture as another important step in their preparations for the new Premier League season, with the coaching staff expected to once again give significant playing time to both established first-team players and emerging youngsters. The club has also noted that the squad numbers worn during pre-season are provisional and could change before the competitive campaign begins.
