AC Milan twice fought back from a goal down to edge Manchester United 4–2 in a thrilling pre-season friendly in Wrocław, Poland, on Saturday, August 15, 2026.

The epic encounter saw a total of six goals scored as Milan rallied from behind to hand former United boss Rúben Amorim a rare pre-season victory.

United took a rapid 1–0 lead in the 2nd minute when Harry Maguire opened the scoring, rising highest at the back post to head home a precise corner delivery from Bruno Fernandes.

AC Milan equalised in the 37th minute through Samuel Chukwueze, who finished at the far post following a sequence of defensive miscommunication inside United’s penalty area that allowed Gonçalo Ramos to set up the winger.

The Red Devils restored their lead in the 51st minute when Patrick Dorgu pounced on a defensive mistake and a loose backpass from Milan’s Filippo Terracciano, curling a superb finish past Lorenzo Torriani to make it 2–1.

Resilient Milan

The seesaw action brought the sides level once again in the 57th minute as Milan responded promptly. Alphadjo Cissé turned home Samuel Chukwueze’s cross at the far post following a rapid attack down the right flank.

New signing Gonçalo Ramos completed Milan’s comeback in the 68th minute to make it 3–2, heading past goalkeeper Senne Lammens after another accurate delivery from Chukwueze on the right wing.

The new arrival’s strike capped off a spell of neat Rossoneri possession deep in United’s half prior to the decisive finish.

Former Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek added Milan’s fourth goal in the 71st minute after being played through on goal by Ramos, bending his finish past Lammens to secure the 4–2 win.

The result leaves plenty of concern for United with only a week remaining before the start of the Premier League campaign.

Manager Michael Carrick, having earned the team a return to UEFA Champions League football, faces a much busier schedule than last season and has called for further reinforcements ahead of the new term.

The club has already brought in four new players, including two goalkeepers, along with Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans, both of whom featured during the pre-season tour across Ireland and Poland.

Marcus Rashford, who returned from an extended World Cup break, joined the team’s preseason in Ireland a while back and also featured in the game.

The club will kick off their Premier League campaign on the road against newly promoted Hull City on Saturday, August 22, 2026.
