Haaland presented with Guinness World Records certificates for ‘extraordinary football highlights’

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has been recognised by Guinness World Records for a remarkable collection of achievements that have marked his career so far.
With the new football season approaching, the Norwegian forward has presented with certificates celebrating four outstanding records, underlining his extraordinary goalscoring exploits in England and Europe.
Recognised records
Among the records recognised is Haaland’s achievement as the highest-scoring player in UEFA Nations League history, with 19 goals to his name.
The prolific forward has also been officially recognised for becoming the fastest player to reach 100 goals in the English Premier League, accomplishing the feat in just 111 appearances.
Haaland holds another Premier League record for scoring the most goals by an individual player in a 38-match season. He finished the 2022/23 campaign with 36 goals, surpassing the previous benchmark and setting a new standard for goalscoring consistency.
His exploits in the UEFA Champions League have also earned him a place in the record books. Haaland scored five goals in a single Champions League match, a feat he shares with Lionel Messi and Luiz Adriano.
Haaland’s latest recognition will also feature in the Guinness World Records Football Edition 2027, which is scheduled for release on October 8.
At just 26, the Norwegian still has plenty of time to add to his growing collection of records, making the coming seasons another opportunity for him to rewrite football’s statistical history.
World Cup experience
Erling Haaland’s first FIFA World Cup adventure came to an end in heartbreaking fashion on Sunday, July 12, 2026, as Norway’s impressive run was halted by England in the quarterfinals.
The prolific forward was substituted with 15 minutes left to play and could only watch from the bench as England’s disciplined defense protected its lead, sealing a 2-1 victory that ended Norway’s remarkable tournament.
Although the defeat dashed Norway’s hopes of reaching the semifinals, Haaland viewed the six-week campaign as a life-changing experience that extended far beyond football.
“These have been the coolest six weeks I’ve had in my entire life,” the 25-year-old said. “It was completely crazy. These are memories for life. It’s the most fun thing I’ve been a part of.”
Reflecting on the impact of the tournament, Haaland said Norway’s achievements had inspired the nation.
“The way we put Norway on the map is the one thing that touches me the most,” he said. “I hope this gives motivation to young people back in Norway that it’s possible. It’s possible to play on the biggest stage in the world with a Norway t-shirt on.” He said.
