Arsenal transfer round-up: Done deals and rumours

Arsenal continue to dominate the transfer headlines as the summer window gathers pace, with several high-profile moves potentially taking shape at the Emirates Stadium.
The biggest story over the last day revolves around Real Madrid winger Vinicius Junior, who has reportedly become a serious target for the Gunners. Club decision-makers are said to have approved the idea of pursuing the Brazilian if the right opportunity presents itself.
Vinicius, 26, has just one year left on his current Real Madrid contract after contributing 22 goals across all competitions last season. With Jose Mourinho now in charge at the Santiago Bernabeu, Madrid could decide to cash in during this transfer window rather than risk losing the forward on a free transfer in 2027.
Although discussions between Arsenal and Real Madrid have not yet begun, reports suggest the North London side are monitoring the situation closely. Any failure to reach an agreement over a new contract could encourage Arsenal to step up their interest.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are also edging closer to a move for Bruno Guimaraes. Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano reports that the club has already reached an agreement on personal terms with the Brazilian midfielder and is preparing to submit a formal £70 million (Ksh12 billion) bid. The offer would follow two unsuccessful attempts worth £55 million (Ksh9.4 billion) and £65 million, both of which were rejected.
The Gunners also remain interested in Julian Alvarez, but negotiations have slowed because of Atletico Madrid’s asking price. Arsenal have reportedly agreed personal terms with the Argentine international but are unwilling to exceed a bid of around £90 million, while Atletico are believed to value the striker at more than £100 million.
Another unexpected name linked with Arsenal is Cristian Romero. The Tottenham Hotspur captain has emerged as a surprise defensive target for the Gunners, with Chelsea and Inter Milan also credited with interest in the World Cup-winning centre-back. Should Arsenal make a move, it would echo one of the Premier League’s most controversial cross-city transfers.
The Gunners are also monitoring the situation surrounding PSG’s Bradley Barcola.
