EPL Review: Arsenal edge closer to Premier League title glory as Manchester City stumble and Manchester United shine

Arsenal made a massive statement of their season’s league title campaign, capitalising on a rare slip-up from Manchester City as Manchester United continued their fine form in the league.
The two rivals entered the match day hoping to keep their winning run at home intact, but proceedings turned sour for Pep Guardiola’s charges, who contended with another blank performance in the 1-1 draw at West Ham on Saturday in a late clash.
Guardiola’s men approached the clash hoping to bounce back to winning ways after a thrashing defeat to Real Madrid in the UCL league but could not keep up the pursuit of the league leaders. The result leaves the former champions trailing the Gunners by nine points, albeit with a game in hand.
The match plaudits belonged to Mikel Arteta’s men, who summoned late spirit to sink Everton thanks to a goal from Victor Gyokeres and youngster Max Dowman, who achieved Premier League history as the division’s youngest-ever goalscorer.

Meanwhile, Liverpool also made a move to the top five despite suffering a late draw against struggling Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield.
Arne Slot’s team hit the front with Dominic Szoboszlai’s stunner but were left to rue an evening of wasted chances as Spurs hit back late through Richarlison’s stoppage-time leveler to claim a crucial point.
Boos for the Blues
The draw was coach Igor Tudor’s first point in charge of the club after taking the reins of the London outfit, who are facing the threat of relegation. Liverpool is now on 49 points, one above Chelsea, who also suffered a solitary goal defeat at home against Newcastle United on Saturday.

The Blues were booed off at Stamford Bridge, having now lost back-to-back matches at home and in Europe.
Meanwhile, Manchester United’s form of their life under coach Michael Carrick peaked further with a memorable 3-1 win over Aston Villa at Old Trafford.
United revival
Casemiro, Benjamin Sesko, and Matheus Cunha supplied the goals as Carrick continued his turnaround of the English giants with a fifth home win since taking charge – and seventh overall.
United also enhanced their chances for European football in the Champions League after opening up a three-point buffer on their Midlands rivals.
The victory also guarantees the club a six-point gap to sixth in the Premier League, regardless of other results on Sunday, as Villa were left to look nervously over their shoulders.
