CAF Champions League: Gor Mahia stars urge fans to pack Nyayo Stadium for Pyramids clash

The Kenyan giants are stepping up preparations for the continental assignment, with Musa confident that the squad is putting in the necessary work ahead of the preliminary-round encounter.
“Preparations are going on well and we are working hard every day to make sure that we are ready for the match. We need our fans to come out in large numbers and support us because their support gives us extra motivation,” Musa said.
The forward was among Gor Mahia’s notable performers during their recent 2026 CECAFA Kagame Cup campaign in Kigali, Rwanda, and believes the famous Green Army could provide an important boost when the team faces the Egyptian side.
Musa’s appeal was supported by teammate Paul Ochuoga, who also called on supporters to maintain their backing as the players complete their preparations for the high-profile fixture.
“We are preparing well and everyone in the team understands what is expected of us. We are asking our fans to believe in us, come to the stadium and support the team from the first minute to the last,” Ochuoga said.
The Pyramids encounter comes as Gor Mahia continue to build momentum ahead of what promises to be a demanding continental campaign. The club will be looking to make home advantage count when the two sides meet.
Musa and Ochuoga are also part of a strong Gor Mahia presence in the provisional Harambee Stars squad. Head coach Benni McCarthy selected six players from the Kenyan champions in his 38-man squad for the upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The Gor Mahia duo will now hope their message reaches the club’s loyal supporters, with a packed Nyayo Stadium expected to provide the team with a passionate home atmosphere.
