Brighton & Hove Albion vs Arsenal: Match prediction and team news

League leaders Arsenal travel to the Amex Stadium on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, aiming to continue their title charge, while Brighton & Hove Albion look to build on back-to-back Premier League wins.

Both sides will be chasing momentum, but it’s the Gunners who enter the match with the sharper form and attacking firepower.

Arsenal’s recent triumph over Chelsea highlighted their deadly proficiency from corners and free-kicks. Headers from William Saliba and Jurrien Timber, either side of an own goal from Piero Hincapie, sealed a 2-1 victory despite Chelsea pushing hard after Pedro Neto’s red card.

Mikel Arteta’s men now sit five points clear of Manchester City, who still have a game in hand, and have maintained an 11-match unbeaten run away from home across all competitions.

Their attacking output on the road has surged this year, averaging 2.3 goals per away match compared to just 1.2 between August and December.

Brighton’s challenge

Brighton arrive on the back of consecutive Premier League victories, including a 2-1 win over Nottingham Forest courtesy of Danny Welbeck’s decisive strike.

Fabian Hurzeler’s men have shown signs of revival, winning more matches in the last two games than in the previous 13.

However, the Seagulls have struggled defensively, keeping only one clean sheet in their last ten matches. While home form has been relatively solid with just two defeats this season, only two wins in the last eight games at the Amex show inconsistency that Arsenal are likely to exploit.

Team news and prediction

Arsenal could be without Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard, both assessed after minor knocks, while Mikel Merino remains out for Brighton with a foot injury. Mats Wieffer may also miss for the hosts, opening the door for Joel Veltman at right-back.

Brighton & Hove Albion possible lineup: Verbruggen; Veltman, Dunk, Van Hecke, Kadioglu; Gross, Baleba; Gomez, Hinshelwood, Mitoma; Welbeck

Arsenal possible lineup: Raya; Mosquera, Saliba, Gabriel, Calafiori; Havertz, Zubimendi, Lewis-Skelly; Saka, Gyokeres, Martinelli

Arsenal’s combination of set-piece strength, in-form attackers, and Brighton’s defensive fragility points to a clear Gunners win.

Brighton will likely score a goal given home support and occasional counter-attacks, but the quality and depth of Arsenal should see them run out 3-1 winners.
