By , June 9, 2026

The upcoming Bislett Games in Oslo on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, will bring together an elite group of athletes, including seven reigning or former Olympic gold medallists and twelve world champions.

Collectively, the competitors have amassed more than 70 medals from the Olympic Games and World Championships.

After impressing in recent competitions, Kenya’s Emmanuel Wanyonyi will be out seeking to stretch his winning streak at the prestigious Diamond League event.

Global stars face off

Several of the Olympic champions arrive in Oslo as current title holders. They include Julien Alfred, the Olympic 100m champion, Letsile Tebogo, who claimed gold in the 200m, Emmanuel Wanyonyi, the reigning Olympic 800m winner, and Thea LaFond, the current Olympic champion in the triple jump.

The field also boasts a significant number of recent medallists, with sixteen Olympic medals among the participants having been earned since 2020, underlining the event’s modern-day star power.

The list of world champions is equally impressive. Five athletes secured their global titles at the most recent World Championships in Tokyo. These include Emmanuel Wanyonyi in the men’s 800m, Isaac Nader in the 1500m, Pedro Pichardo in the triple jump, Jessica Schilder in the shot put, and Juleisy Angulo in the javelin throw.

Beyond the reigning champions, many of the athletes have enjoyed success in recent years, with more than thirty of the medals represented in the Oslo field having been won since 2022.

The combination of Olympic and world champions is expected to make the Bislett Games one of the most competitive and high-profile meetings on this year’s Diamond League calendar.
