Are you seeing Benni McCarthy? Unstoppable Moses Shumah marks scoring milestone in Zambia
By Luke Oluoch, April 13, 2026Harambee Stars striker Moses Shumah marked a new scoring feat in Zambia on Saturday, April 11, 2026, as the reigning champions Power Dynamos edged Nkana FC in the Zambian top-tier league meeting.
The former Kakamega Homeboyz poacher scored the decisive goal as Dynamos claimed the all-important win to cement their lead and continue their title charge.
Shumah’s strike not only claimed the bragging rights in the Kitwe derby for his team but also made for a rather stunning statistic.
With his 18th goal of the season secured, he has surpassed the tally he set in the 2024/25 season with Homeboyz to win the Golden Boot. Additionally, he also surpassed their matchday derby rivals’ overall haul of 17 goals, showcasing the form Kenya has been in.

Shumah has been on a record-breaking spree in the Zambian Super League.
The striker has already broken several records in the league.
Nicknamed Macky 2 in Zambia for his spitting resemblance to the country’s musician, he already shattered last season’s haul of Congolese Idriss Mbombo and Titus Chansa, who netted 13 goals each.
He also seeks to become the first Kenyan to finish as top scorer in the league, a feat that somehow eluded the legendary Jesse Were, a prolific striker in his own right, who dominated the Zambian league during his time at Zesco but only won the club’s leading scorer title in multiple seasons.
Fourth league brace
His most recent goal in the Kitwe derby followed his fine goal-scoring form on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, bagging a brace to guide Power Dynamos to a convincing 3–0 victory over Mines United at Arthur Davies Stadium.
The strike lifted his tally to 17 goals, equalling the number that saw him clinch the Kenyan Premier League Golden Boot last season with Homeboyz and earned him his maiden professional stint.
Overall, his clinical finishing once again proved decisive as Dynamos strengthened their push for the league title.
At eighteen goals with eight games to spare, it remains to be seen how many goals the Kenyan will stop at.
In his maiden season in Zambia, the striker could win the coveted Golden Boot and league Most Valuable Player (MVP) awards.
