5-star Aldrine Kibet crowned league champion in Spain

Kenyan youngster Aldrine Kibet scored a remarkable five goals as Celta Vigo U19 steamrolled SD Solares 13-0 to be crowned the U19 league champions in Spain.
The Harambee Stars ace delivered a stunning performance on the final day, bagging five goals in a span of 39 minutes to seal an emphatic individual display. This record-breaking feat set a new personal best for the youngster, surpassing his previous record of four goals in a single match set back in March.
maiden league title
More importantly, the victory secures Kibet’s maiden league title in Spain since joining Celta Vigo on a four-year deal in July 2025 from the Nàstic Sports Academy.
While he was primarily signed for the U19 (Cantera) side, Kibet’s meteoric rise saw him integrated into Celta Vigo B (Celta Fortuna) in the Primera RFEF.
There, he has gained crucial experience, earning several appearances on the bench and valuable minutes in competitive professional matches.

Beyond the league, the attacker also enjoyed a stellar cup campaign, leading the team to the Copa del Rey semi-finals. Although Celta Vigo’s quest for the domestic cup ended in a bitter 3-2 defeat to Real Betis on March 11, 2026, Kibet stole the show with a stylish brace that nearly dragged the Alberto Suárez-coached side across the line.
AFCON 2027 dreams
On the international front, the youngster has already earned his debut for the Harambee Stars.
Kibet, who played an integral part in the AFCON U20 team in 2025, is hoping to continue the fine run as he looks to cement his place in the national team squad ahead of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
