Activist and spoken word artiste Willie Oeba has fingered comedian Jasper Muthomi, popularly known as MC Jessy, over the latter’s inconsistent political stand.

Oeba has revisited complaints made by the comedian, comparing the same to his recent remarks, heaping praises on President William Ruto.

The Nakuru-based artist dismissed MC Jessy as a bootlicker who lacks the guts to speak truth to power, citing his inconsistency.

He revisited the comedian’s remarks in an interview in which he bitterly lamented how he was disappointed despite campaigning for Ruto aggressively.

“Huyu jamaa anakuanga mlambi sana. Anapenda kulamba. MC Jesse juzi kwa interview alikuwa anasema vile Ruto amedissapoint wao kama watu walimcampaignia sahii analamba,” Oeba wrote on X on Friday, February 6, 2026.

This loosely translates to: “This guy is a bootlicker; he was complaining just the other day about how Ruto has disappointed him alongside those who campaigned for the president, and yet here he is bootlicking.”

Oeba questions MC Jessy’s stand

He questioned the comedian’s inconsistency, wondering why MC Jessy could not repeat the same complaints before Ruto.

“Kwani speaking truth to power in his face ni ngumu aje (How difficult is it to speak truth to power in his face?) ”, Oeba slammed.

Oeba made the statement when reacting to MC Jessy’s remarks at State House on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, when President Ruto hosted UDA aspirants.

In the video, Ruto can be seen calling MC Jessy from the crowd of UDA aspirants to highlight what his administration has done.

What MC Jessy said

In the speech, Jessy heaped praises on Ruto, thanking him for unlocking the economic potential of the digital economy.

The comedian shared how he has been minting money from social media platforms.
