Uhuru Kenyatta calls for peace and unity in Christmas message to Kenyans

Retired President Uhuru Kenyatta has extended warm wishes of peace, joy, and God’s blessings to all Kenyans and their families in his Christmas message.

In a statement shared on Thursday, December 25, 2025, Uhuru emphasised the importance of unity, love, compassion, and hope during the festive season, urging citizens to reflect on the values that bind the country together.

“Fellow Kenyans, as we mark this Christmas season, I extend my sincere wishes of peace, joy, and God’s blessings to you and your families. May this festive period remind us of the values that unite us, love, unity, compassion, and hope for a brighter future,” Uhuru’s message reads.

The fourth president further urged Kenyans travelling to be with their loved ones to exercise caution on the roads, advising them to be patient, obey traffic rules, and remember that no journey is worth a life.

He also urged Kenyans to adhere to traffic rules and keep the road safe.

“As many travel to be with loved ones, I urge all to exercise caution on our roads. Let us be patient, obey traffic rules, and remember that no journey is worth a life. Together, let us commit to arriving safely,” Uhuru urged.

The retired president also shared his hopes for 2026, wishing for a prosperous year marked by peace, unity, and mutual respect, while reminding all Kenyans of their shared responsibility in building the nation’s progress.

“Looking ahead, I wish you a prosperous New Year 2026, filled with unity, peace, and mutual respect for the good of our beloved nation. Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year to you all. God bless you, your families, and our great country, Kenya,” he added.

Ruto’s message

On the other hand, President William Ruto, in his message, reminded Kenyans about road safety, urging drivers to exercise caution during the holiday period.

“Wakenya 2025, we clocked it. I wish you a merry Christmas and a great and blessed 2026. Na kule barabarani, let’s drive carefully, avoid unnecessary losses,” Ruto’s festive message to Kenyans reads.

Otherwise asanteni sana, mungu awabariki nawapenda jameni.”
