State House has announced a public auction of various unserviceable items, including unserviceable motor vehicles, television sets, carpets, furniture, old tyres and scrap materials.

In a notice published in MyGov on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, the Executive Office of the President announced plans to dispose of items that are no longer useful, giving Kenyans an opportunity to bid for government-owned property through a public auction

Other items listed for sale are unserviceable motor vehicles, assorted TVs, old vehicle batteries, scrap metal, old tyres, Toyota gearboxes, halogen security lights, car wash machines, carpets and assorted broken furniture.

“The Executive Office of the President – State House intends to sell by public auction unserviceable motor vehicles, scrap metal, assorted old tyres, assorted TVs, old motor vehicle batteries, a car wash machine, Toyota gear boxes, halogen security lights and assorted broken furniture, among other items,” the public notice reads.

The auction is scheduled to take place on June 23, 2026, starting at 10:00 a.m. at the State Department for Roads in Ruiru.

“The auction will take place on Tuesday, 23rd June 2026, starting at 10:00 a.m. at the State Department for Roads, Ruiru,” the notice reads.

Requirement

The State House said interested bidders will be required to pay a refundable deposit of KSh50,000 in cash at the Executive Office of the President-State House cash office in Nairobi during normal working hours.

“The prospective bidders are required to pay a refundable deposit of KShs. 50,000/= payable in form of cash at cash office, Executive Office of the President-State House in Nairobi, during normal working hours,” the notice reads.

Prospective buyers have been advised to obtain additional information, including the catalogue containing details of the items on sale, venue, conditions of sale and viewing dates, through the government procurement portal and the President’s website.

“Interested bidders may obtain further information by visiting www.tenders.go.ke and www.president. go.ke to download the catalogue containing details of venue, items to be auctioned, conditions of sale and date of viewing,” the notice reads.

The auction will be conducted by Astorion Auctioneers, who have been appointed to oversee the sale process.

“The appointed auctioneer is ASTORION AUCTIONEERS OF P.O. BOX 33340-00600 NAIROBI TEL. 0733-366672,” the notice reads.

Interested bidders can also seek further clarification from Astorion Auctioneers or the Comptroller of State House through the contacts provided in the auction notice.
