Safaricom PLC has confirmed that its M-Shwari platform will be unavailable on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, due to a planned system maintenance exercise that will see all services offline.

Among the services to be affected are:

Send to M-Shwari

For about 1 hour and 30 minutes, Kenyans will not be able to deposit money from their M-Pesa accounts to M-Shwari accounts, and Safaricom is cautioning them to plan in advance to avoid any form of inconvenience.

If one must ‘hide’ some money during that moment, they can do so via the KCB Mpesa at will and without sweat.

Withdraw from M-Shwari

Withdrawing money you saved from the M-Shwari account is very crucial, especially during those hours. Withdrawing money at such times simply means emergencies such as accidents, sickness or even payment of bills like KPLC tokens.

To avoid being caught up in the melee, it is important that you withdraw some money or empty your M-Shwari account before things become worse.

Lock Savings Account

This is where many set savings goals. It is where dreams have been actualised, cars bought, and mansions built, as a result of saving that 50 bob.

But during the interruption period, Safaricom has confirmed that it will not be possible. One can wait for the duration to end while money is in the Mpesa account or explore other options if one must save/lock their money during the duration.

Loan

Loans and credits came to help. Nobody knows when one can be inneed of some money. Instead of making phone calls to your friends at such hours, why don’t you borrow in advance if you have limits or plan accordingly? This is because the loan service is among the services Safaricom has confirmed will not be working during the outage.

Check Balance

Checking your M-Shwari balance is vital because it helps you plan properly. It helps one make some painful decisions about one’s life.

Honestly, one can check their balances before things go south, but not south per se, because after 90 minutes, the service will be back, and you will be able to check your M-Shwari balances as many times as possible.

Mini Statement

A statement from M-Shwari will definitely tell you in a very polite language what you did with your account, when, how, and where, in case of expense or income.

So accessing this service, between the stipulated timeline, will be like selling pork in Mecca because you will feel as if you’re being ignored or your phone doubts you. But after the system maintenance, everything will be okay.
