Separate operation
This comes shortly after the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) seized large amounts of bhang worth about Ksh11.6 million during coordinated anti-drug operations in Nakuru County and Keiyo South.
In a post on X on Monday, January 19, 2026, the agency said the operations were based on intelligence and involved several units, including the Anti-Narcotics Unit (ANU) and the Dog Unit.
Following credible tips, detectives stopped a silver vehicle along Kabarak-Nakuru Road. A search of the vehicle uncovered 12 green sacks and 12 bales of bhang, totalling 387 kilograms.
The driver managed to flee, but the co-driver, considered a person of interest, was arrested. The suspect, along with the seized drugs and the vehicle, was taken to a local police station to await further legal action.
