Mosiria slams blind faith after Ghanaian prophet Ebo Noah arrested for false doomsday prophecy

Nairobi County’s Citizen Engagement and Customer Care boss, Geoffrey Mosiria, has spoken out following the arrest of Ghanaian prophet Ebo Noah, who made a failed prophecy that the world would end on Christmas Day, December 25, 2025.

In a statement shared on his X account on Thursday, January 1, 2026, Mosiria criticised blind faith and urged people to use their brains while exercising their beliefs.

He pointed out that some so-called experts questioned why Noah did not take a smarter approach, suggesting that he could have advised people to plant seeds instead, which might have earned him enough money to cover his bail and still appear anointed.

Mosiria also emphasised that some people blindly follow leaders without thinking, sometimes even engaging in ridiculous rituals. He encouraged everyone to stop being brainwashed, to use common sense, and to remember that while faith is important, our brains are also a gift from God.

“Seen this online that a Ghanaian prophet, Ebo Noah, has been arrested after spreading a false prophecy that the world would end on Christmas Day. Honestly, some of our own “experts” are wondering if this man was not smart at all. He should have just told people to plant a seed (panda mbegu). By now, he would have made enough money to comfortably pay his cash bail and still remain “anointed.”

Since some of us have decided to switch off our brains completely, huyu nitamletea yule jamaa wa kuchoma nyama kwa kanisa ampake mafuta ya kiroho asiharibu mboka 🤣. I pray that this new year we stop being brainwashed, stop being foolish, and start using our brains properly. Faith is good, but brains are also a God-given gift,” Mosiria stated.

Ebo Noah, whose full name is Evans Ebo Noah Eshun, gained international attention in 2025 after claiming he had received a divine warning that a global flood would occur on Christmas Day. He encouraged followers to travel to his site in Ghana, where large wooden “arks” were being built to survive the predicted disaster.

Hundreds of people reportedly travelled to the site with their belongings in anticipation of the flood. When the world did not end, Ebo Noah released further videos claiming the disaster had been postponed because prayers and fasting had persuaded God to give more time for building additional arks.

The Ghana Police Service confirmed Ebo Noah’s arrest on Wednesday, December 31, 2025.
