Mosiria condemns Kinangop cow poisoning incident

The Head of Customer Care Department in Nairobi County Geoffrey Mosiria has strongly condemned a disturbing incident in Kinangop, where a farmer is counting heavy losses after all his cows were allegedly poisoned in what he described as a cruel and evil act.

Through his Facebook account on Sunday, January 11, 2026, Mosiria reacted with shock and anger, saying the attack was not just about animals but a targeted attempt to hurt the farmer by destroying his livelihood.

“UCHAWI NI REAL!!! Watu ni wachawi huku nje,” Mosiria wrote, expressing disbelief at how someone could kill an entire herd simply out of hatred or jealousy.

Pure evil

According to Mosiria, the act showed that the real target was the farmer himself, but since the person responsible could not reach him, they chose to take revenge by poisoning the cows instead.

“How do you kill all these cows, even if you hated the owner or you had differences? This clearly means the target was the farmer, and since the person couldn’t reach him or her, akaamua ku revenge na ng’ombe,” he stated.

The Nairobi County official described the Kinangop farmer as someone who has now been left nursing deep emotional and financial pain after years of hard work were wiped out overnight.

“A farmer is now nursing deep pain after losing all these cows, years of hard work wiped out in one cruel act. This is not just hate, this is evil,” Mosiria said.

He warned that such actions go beyond ordinary disputes and point to dangerous levels of envy and malice within communities.

Call to speak up

Mosiria appealed to members of the public who may have information about the incident to come forward and help the affected farmer get justice.

“If you know who did this, please help this farmer. Speak up. Report. Let justice take its course,” he urged.

He also cautioned that the attack should not be taken lightly, noting that today it was cows, but tomorrow it could be someone’s life or livelihood.

“Today it is his cows, tomorrow it could be someone else’s life or livelihood,” he said.

Mosiria concluded by calling on Kenyans to reject jealousy, hatred, and evil in society. “Wivu, chuki, na uovu havina nafasi katika jamii yetu,” he wrote, as he called for unity, responsibility, and protection of hardworking citizens.
