List of areas to experience power blackout on Tuesday, July 7
By Dan Kauna, July 6, 2026Kenya Power has listed areas of the country that will experience scheduled power interruptions on Tuesday, July 7, 2026.
According to the utility company, the power cuts are necessary to allow technical teams to conduct routine system upgrades. In an official notice to customers, Kenya Power stated that “the interruption is part of network maintenance” aimed at boosting supply reliability.

Most of the interruptions will run for eight hours, starting from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Residents and businesses in the affected regions have been advised to plan ahead to avoid disruptions.
Nairobi and Coast regions to face outages
In Nairobi, a large section of Lang’ata will be without power for most of the day. The blackout will affect businesses along Lang’ata Road, including Galleria Mall, Panda Mart, MAC Frys, Gulf Energy, and the Carnivore Restaurant.
Other areas on the list include Lang’ata Barracks, the KWS Headquarters, Lang’ata Crematorium, KWS Club, and Camp David Langata KRA.
Residential estates such as Jambo Estate, Shree Cutch, Samaj, EPCO, Tamarind, Trident Park, Daisy Park, Oyster Mews, Westpark, Phenom Park, Phenom Estate, Serene Gardens, and Dorothy Park will also face the cutoff.

At the Coast, several towns in Kwale and Kilifi counties are on the list. In Kwale, parts of Mshiu, Mrima, and Lunga Lunga will have no power from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
This will affect Mwangwei, Majoreni, Vanga, Horohoro, and Mwangulu. Msambweni and Kikoneni will also experience an outage during the same hours, which will affect Shimbahills, Kidimu, Mwazaro, Shimoni KPA, Shimoni Navy, and Shimoni Reef.
In Kilifi, parts of Watamu will be switched off from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
The blackout will hit Temple Point, Kaanan, Jiwe Jeupe, Dongo Kundu, Watamu Village, Lonho Lodge, Jacaranda, Plot 5 to Plot 40, Kika, Kobe, Watamu Hospital, Watamu Police, Peponi, Liedl, Dongo Kundu Primary, and Turtle Bay.
Parts of Nyanza and Central Kenya listed
In the Nyanza region, parts of Suneka in Kisii County will experience the outage from 9:00 a to 5:00 pm. The blackouts will hit Suneka Market, Rubis Petrol Station, Ekerorano, and Sugunana.

Central Kenya will also see power cuts, specifically within Nyeri County. Areas under Endarasha, Kanyagia, and Charity will be switched off between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm.
This will affect Uaso Nyiro, Mairo, Kinyaiti, Hill Side, Kabati, Isaaco, Sangare, Mahiga, Endarasha Secondary School, Kimunyuru, Nganoini, Embaringo, and Watuka.
Additionally, Karima, Gura, and Muthinga will face the same eight-hour outage.
Locations affected here include Karima Mission, Gatugi Coffee Factory, Gatugi Water Supply, Mbari ya Ngai, Githenge Market, Gathera Market, Agakui, Gura Thuthi Research, Gura Water Project, Gathaithi Water Pump, Father Nyamu Secondary, and Kiagi.
