Kenya Power lists areas to experience power outages on Friday, August 14

Several parts of Kenya will experience temporary power interruptions on Friday, August 14, 2026, as Kenya Power carries out planned maintenance across various regions.
According to Kenya Power, the blackouts will last for eight hours in most affected areas, with electricity expected to be unavailable between 9am and 5pm. However, parts of Meru County will experience a longer nine-hour outage, running from 8am to 5pm.
The utility company said the scheduled maintenance will affect parts of Kisumu, Kakamega, Migori, Meru, and Mombasa counties.
“Good evening. The listed areas will be under planned power maintenance tomorrow (14th August 2026),” Kenya Power noted.
Here are some of the areas set to be affected by the scheduled power outage.
- Kisumu County
In Kisumu, areas around Riat and SOS will be without electricity from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
The affected areas include Susan Owiyo, SOS Children’s Home, Kango Enterprises, Kanyakwar, Campus Industries Riat, and Kabila Poultry Farm, among other adjacent areas.
- Kakamega County
Parts of Matete and Nambilima will experience an outage between 9:00am and 5:00pm.
The affected areas include Matete Market, Mbande, Nambilima, Butali Sugar, and Butali Market, among other adjacent customers.

- Migori County
In Migori, areas around Nyamuga and Nyarach will be affected from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
The interruption will affect Ogengó, Nyarach, Nyaburu, Nyamuga, Ngodhe, Odienya, Opapo, Nyangau, Kudho, and Ofwanga, among other areas.
- Meru County
Parts of Kinaa, KWS Office, and Kiengu Market will experience a power interruption from 8:00am to 5:00pm.
Affected areas include Kaweru, Kihutini, Kipkona, Kinaa Market, KWS, Rhino Camp, Njoune, Kamiruru, Nthare, Nguyuyu, Matindui, Kiengu, Kabuitu, Kiamuringa, Kanjoo, Mangala, Ikweta, Kanake, Therone, Thambiro, Materine, and Garbatula, among other adjacent customers.
- Mombasa County
In Mombasa, areas around Dolphine and Serena will be without electricity from 9:00am to 5:00pm.
The affected areas include Dolphine, Flamingo Pride Inn, Tembo Conference Centre, Kiluwa, Shasha, Navy, Shimo la Tewa High School, Shanzu Teachers College, Pride Inn Serena, Shanzu Garden, Cowrie Shell, Go Cart, and Petrocity, among other adjacent customers.
Kenya Power said the planned interruptions are necessary to facilitate maintenance operations and apologised for any inconvenience caused.
“We regret any inconvenience that may be caused during the operations,”Kenya Power stated.
