Kenya Power lists areas to experience electricity outages on Sunday, August 2
By Cynthia Lodite, August 1, 2026Kenya Power has announced planned electricity supply interruptions on Sunday, August 2, 2026, affecting specific locations in five counties across the North Rift, Western, and Coast regions.
The utility company published the notice to inform customers in the marked zones to prepare for temporary outages.
“Good evening. Kindly note that the following areas will be affected by planned power maintenance tomorrow, Sunday, 02/08/2026,” Kenya Power stated.
The scheduled works are part of routine network maintenance aimed at improving service reliability.
North Rift
In the North Rift region, parts of Uasin Gishu County, including Turbo NYS, Murram Village, Mugunga, Pan Paper Market, Mautuma, Munge, Mlimani, and St. Gabriel, will experience power cuts from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
In Trans Nzoia County, areas around Endebes Market, Suam Border, Chepchoina, KRA Offices, KWS Offices, Kimondo, and adjacent customers will face outages between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
Western region
In the Western region, Kisumu County’s Abbysinia area, including Abbysinia Iron & Steel Factory and Ezra Gambe Primary School, will be without power from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Siaya County’s Obambo area, covering Siger, Ndere, Ratuoro, and Rangala Girl’s School, will experience interruptions between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
In Vihiga County, Luanda town, Ebuyangu, Esaaba, Ebukolo, Emabwi, and Ebukanga will also be affected from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Coast region schedules and customer advisory
Coast region customers will experience longer maintenance windows running from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
In Mombasa County, affected locations include the whole of Shanzu, Mwembelegeza, Serena, Whitesands, Bamburi Beach, Shimo la Tewa Primary and Secondary Schools, and Pride Inn Paradise.
In Kilifi County, parts of Kanamai, Mtwapa, and Kikambala will be affected, including Mtwapa Town, Vipingo Ridge, KMA, Mtwapa Sub-County Hospital, and surrounding areas.
Residents in the listed locations are advised to plan accordingly, disconnect sensitive electrical equipment, and make alternative arrangements for energy needs during the specified maintenance hours. Power will be restored as soon as the maintenance tasks are completed in each region.
