Kenya Power lists areas set to face blackouts on Friday, August 7

Kenya Power has announced planned electricity maintenance that will affect parts of Kiambu and Kisumu counties on Friday, August 7, 2026.

In a notice issued on Thursday, August 6, 2026, the utility company said the scheduled power interruption is necessary to facilitate maintenance works on its electricity network.

Customers in the affected areas have been advised to plan, as power supply will be temporarily switched off during the stated hours.

Parts of Kiambu to experience outage

In the North Eastern Region, parts of Kiambu County will experience a planned power outage in the Mashinani and Kiratina areas from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

The blackout will affect customers in Mashinani, Neema Oasis, Pro-Kid, Landmark, PRD, Sewage, Kwa Muchina, Kiratina Primary School, parts of Gikumari and Kilimambogo, as well as adjacent customers. Kenya Power said the interruption is necessary to allow maintenance works on the electricity network.

“North Eastern Region: Parts of Kiambu County – Area: Mashinani, Kiratina. Date: Friday, August 7, 2026. Time: 9.00 a.m. – 5.00 p.m. Affected areas include Mashinani, Neema Oasis, Pro-Kid, Landmark, PRD, Sewage, Kwa Muchina, Kiratina Primary School, parts of Gikumari, Kilimambogo and adjacent customers, “Kenya Power stated.

Kisumu areas also affected

In the Western Region, parts of Kisumu County will also be without electricity between 10:00 am and 3:00 pm.

The outage will affect customers in Kesref, Kajulu Water, Gita, Chiga, Nyamonge, Dr Oloo Gmbi, Kasisi and surrounding areas as maintenance works are carried out.
