Jirongo’s widow opens up on how he lovingly balanced life with his 3 wives
Anne Lanoi, the wife of the late politician and businessman Cyrus Jirongo, has shared an emotional account of how her husband managed life with his three wives, saying he treated each of them with fairness, love, and respect.
Speaking during Jirongo’s burial ceremony on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, Lanoi said the late former Lugari MP made deliberate efforts to ensure none of his wives felt neglected or less valued.
The ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including retired President Uhuru Kenyatta.

“Cyrus was so loving. He loved us equally. He did not favour anyone,” Lanoi said.
A man who loved equally
Lanoi explained that whenever Jirongo travelled, he made it a point to return with identical gifts for all his wives, ensuring equality in both value and intent.
“He would return carrying three phones. If they were iPhones, they were all iPhones. If it was Gucci bags, they were Gucci bags in different colours,” she said.
She added that even with perfumes, Jirongo would buy the same brand but choose different scents for each wife, a gesture she said made them all feel special and appreciated.
“He was fair to all of us. We thank him for that, because he made us feel special. He really made us feel special,” Lanoi stated.
According to her, the late politician provided everything he could for his family within his means, noting that his effort to balance love and responsibility was something she believed many could learn from.
How Jirongo met his death

Rift Valley Regional Traffic Commander Sara Chumo confirmed that the accident occurred at around 3:00 am, saying Jirongo died on the spot.
According to police, Jirongo was driving a Mercedes-Benz saloon car towards Nairobi when it collided head-on with a bus that was heading in the opposite direction. He sustained severe head injuries that led to his instant death.
His body was moved to the Naivasha Sub-County Hospital mortuary, while the vehicles involved were towed to Naivasha Police Station pending inspection. No other fatalities were reported.
Following the accident, Nakuru County Police Commander Samuel Opuru urged motorists to exercise caution on the roads, especially during the festive season.
Jirongo, a former Cabinet minister and two-term MP, leaves behind a legacy that continues to spark national conversation, both in politics and family life.
