Detailed CCTV footage shows what transpired during disruption at All Saints Cathedral
By William Muthama, June 13, 2026A detailed CCTV analysis has revealed how a group of individuals disrupted a public participation meeting on the budget review held at All Saints Cathedral in Nairobi on Friday, June 12, 2026, with footage capturing a clear sequence of events from the afternoon hours.
The recordings show how the group moved in and out of the premises, triggering chaos inside the church during the ongoing forum.
According to CCTV footage, the first movements are captured at around 3:39 pm when motorbikes carrying two to three men each arrive at the cathedral.
The riders are seen forcing entry into the compound, with registration details and movements clearly visible on surveillance cameras positioned around the church.
Police intervention
At approximately 4:04 pm, police officers are seen arriving at the scene and removing the group from the cathedral grounds.
However, the situation escalates shortly after their removal. The individuals are seen moving towards Valley Road, where they confront and rob unsuspecting members of the public.

Return to the cathedral
Minutes later, at around 4:11 pm, the group is seen returning to the cathedral on foot after abandoning their motorbikes.
CCTV footage shows them re-entering the premises and heading towards the hall where the public participation session is underway.
They are seen spreading across different sections of the building and moving through corridors leading to upper floors where participants are gathered.
Chaos inside the hall
Inside the venue, the footage shows the individuals confronting attendees as panic spreads through the hall.
Some participants are seen attempting to escape to the upper floors, while others are caught in the unfolding chaos. One person is seen being mugged and attempting to fight back.
The footage shows him struggling with the attackers before police officers intervene and come to his aid.

The disruption forces the session to a halt as order breaks down inside the cathedral hall.
Police response and aftermath
Police officers are later seen intervening to restore order, dispersing the group from the premises.
The footage also shows police apprehending one suspect at the scene.
The National Council of Churches of Kenya (NCCK) on Saturday, June 13, 2026, condemned the incident, describing it as a deliberate attack on a place of worship.

“The National Council of Churches of Kenya (NCCK) is appalled at the blatant and despicable desecration of the All Saints Cathedral, a sacred place of worship, by state-sponsored goons earlier today,” the council said in a statement.
NCCK added that the invasion of the cathedral during the budget review meeting was an attack on a sacred space and called for accountability over the incident.
