All Saint’s Cathedral is set to hold a memorial service for the slain anti-government protesters and interdenominational prayer for the Nation on July 7, 2024.
In a statement shared on x, on Friday, July 7, 2024, All Saint’s Cathedral said that the mass will not only be in honour of the slain protesters but also will be in light of the ongoing protests and their impact on the country.
All Saint’s further invited Kenyans to join them in the requiem mass which will be hosted at All Saint’s Cathedral Valley road in Nairobi from 2 pm.

Memorial Concert
Human Rights activists led by Boniface Mwangi have organized a memorial Concert to be held at Uhuru Park in honour of those who lost their lives during the anti-government protest.
He added that the memorial concert dubbed ‘ShuGenz’, will be held on Sunday, July 7, 2024 and urged those planning to attend to carry flowers.

In a letter shared on X on July 4, 2024, Boniface revealed that the Nairobi county government through Governor Johnson Sakaja has agreed to open Uhuru Park for the memorial concert, as well as provide county security to ensure a safe and peaceful gathering.

“The County Government of Nairobi has permitted us to hold the concert, and we would like to ask the National Police Service to provide additional security. Most importantly the officers should be in full uniform, and identifiable. We don’t want masked officers, dressed like terrorists like the ones we saw shooting protestors, “ShuGenz concert permit letter reads.
“We shall have County Askaris and private guards but we are extending an invite to the National Police to redeem their image by sending humane officers to secure the venue too. The event will be a celebration of those who died, and there will be no politician who will be allowed to speak. I’m just clarifying that to assure you it’s not a political rally or a platform to desecrate the dead.”
