Open letter: Dear Ruto, tours and promises will not secure your re-election

By , November 14, 2025

Dear President,

This letter comes to you with respect and calm honesty. It carries the voice of citizens who have observed, listened and reflected. Kenyans have already made their choice.

It is not a hostile choice. It is not a political threat. It is a quiet but firm conclusion based on experience and reality.

Kenyans have decided that they will back your 2027 re-election bid, but not in the way you may imagine. They will not do so because of big tours, long convoys or colourful announcements.

They will not be moved by lists of promised projects or by declarations that feel distant from their daily struggles. Their support will depend entirely on what they can see, touch, and confirm as real.

Kenyans support results

Mr President, the country has become wiser. When you promise a project worth even one shilling, citizens now ask a very simple question.

Is it in the budget? Is it funded? Is it ready to begin?

If not, they treat it as a political sentence, not a national plan. Kenyans have learned to separate hope from reality and words from delivery.

This is why tours and pledges do not hold the same weight they once did. Citizens appreciate your visits. They appreciate your presence in every region.

But they also know that delivering two thousand title deeds does not require the entire machinery of the presidency.

They know that a minister or a county office could handle such tasks at a far lower cost. They see the expenses involved in moving large teams across the country.

They see the aircraft, the fuel, the allowances and the preparation costs.

They understand that these funds could strengthen more urgent services if used carefully.

Kenyans do not reject development tours. They simply want a balance.

They want the bulk of resources directed to actual results, not the performance of announcing results.

The choice is clear and simple

Mr President, the choice Kenyans have already made is not one of rebellion. It is one of maturity.

Citizens will support you in 2027 if they see a genuine transformation. They want systems that work without needing explanation.

They want health services that function smoothly. They want roads that are finished on time.

They want the electricity connections completed as promised. They want corruption reduced in action, not in speeches.

Kenyans are not troubled by term limits or political competition. They want stability, and they desire a peaceful nation. They do not wish you harm.

They do not wish you political loss. They only want leadership that listens, adjusts and focuses on impact instead of impression.

In the end, the message is simple. You already have the goodwill of many. The country is ready to support you, but on its terms.

Deliver what is promised. Fund what is announced. Reduce unnecessary expenses. Trust that Kenyans can see both effort and truth.

If this direction is taken, the choice they have made becomes a choice in your favour.

Not through pressure or persuasion but through confidence that their President is fully committed to their well-being.

Respectfully,
