Wicknell Chivayo reveals what he admires about Ruto after 3-hour meeting
By Valerian Khakayi, September 9, 2026Zimbabwean businessman Wicknell Chivayo has revealed what he admires about President William Ruto after spending nearly three hours with the Kenyan leader during a dinner and meeting in Nairobi.
Chivayo said his interaction with Ruto left him impressed by the President’s “energy, vision, work ethic and relentless determination” to transform Kenya.
“Every time I interact with President Ruto, I continue to admire his ENERGY, VISION, WORK ETHIC AND RELENTLESS DETERMINATION to transform Kenya,” Chivayo said.
The businessman described Ruto as a leader who understands the importance of investment, infrastructure and entrepreneurship in shaping Africa’s future.
“He is a leader who understands that Africa’s future must be built through investment, infrastructure, entrepreneurship and creating opportunities for the next generation,” he said.
Chivayo said the meeting, which lasted almost three hours, centred on business, investment, infrastructure development and Africa’s economic potential.
“Last night I had the great pleasure of once again spending quality time with my dear friend, elder brother and Father, HIS EXCELLENCY PRESIDENT WILLIAM SAMOEI RUTO, President of the Republic of Kenya,” he said.
“Our dinner and meeting, which lasted almost THREE HOURS, was filled with meaningful conversations about business, investment, infrastructure development and the enormous economic potential that exists across our great African continent.”

The businessman further disclosed that his long-standing plan to invest US$200 million in Kenya, equivalent to approximately Ksh25.9 billion based on the September 9, 2026, Central Bank of Kenya exchange rate, is now taking shape.
“For me personally, last night was particularly significant because my long-standing vision to invest a small US$200 MILLION IN KENYA through various INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS is finally coming to fruition,” Chivayo said.
“What started as discussions, ideas and possibilities is steadily becoming reality.”
He said the investment would focus on projects that create jobs, strengthen infrastructure and contribute to Kenya’s economic development.
“I am excited about the opportunities ahead and remain committed to bringing meaningful private capital into projects that create employment, strengthen infrastructure and contribute positively to Kenya’s continued economic development,” he said.

Chivayo also praised Kenya as an attractive investment destination, saying he plans to expand his business footprint in the country.
“Kenya remains one of the most exciting investment destinations in Africa, and I look forward to significantly expanding my business footprint here in the years ahead,” he said.
He further expressed his support for Ruto ahead of the 2027 General Election.
“Come 2027, my position requires absolutely no guessing, MR PRESIDENT. YOU HAVE MY VOTE,” Chivayo said.
“I may be Zimbabwean by birth, but spiritually tonight my voter’s card is already waiting in Nairobi!”
Chivayo concluded by thanking Ruto for his hospitality and praising his leadership.
“Leadership is ultimately judged by the courage to dream big and the determination to turn those dreams into tangible results,” he said.
“KEEP WORKING, KEEP BUILDING AND KEEP TRANSFORMING KENYA.”
