How to check your NSSF savings using your phone

Keeping track of your National Social Security Fund (NSSF) savings has been easier since you can now check everything straight from your phone without making long trips to NSSF offices just to see how much you have contributed or how your retirement fund is growing.

Today, Kenyan workers can quickly check their balance, contributions, and statements anytime, anywhere using easy mobile tools.

Here is how you can check your savings using your phone.

Use the USSD Code

This is the quickest and simplest way, and it works on any phone, even without internet access.

First, open your phone’s dialler and dial *303#, then select “Member Services” from the menu.

Enter your NSSF number or National ID number and select “Contributions Information,” and your latest contributions and total savings will appear onscreen.

Afterwards, a summary can also be sent to you via SMS.

This method is perfect if you just want a quick snapshot of your NSSF account without logging into any website or app.

Through the NSSF self-service portal

For a more detailed look at your contributions and history, you can use NSSF’s online portal on your phone’s browser.

First, visit the official NSSF Self-Service Portal, then log in with your NSSF number and password.

Navigate to “Contributions Statement”, and you can view or download a full statement in PDF showing all your contributions and savings balances.

If this is your first time logging in, you can register or use the “forgot password” option to recover your account.

WhatsApp chatbot

NSSF also offers assistance through a WhatsApp chatbot at +254 704 303 303.

You can retrieve statements, check balances, and get answers to common questions without visiting an office.

Importance of checking your savings

Keeping an eye on your NSSF savings is important because it lets you make sure your employer is remitting contributions on time, track how your retirement fund is growing, catch and resolve any discrepancies early, and plan more effectively for your financial future.

Whether you use USSD, the self-service portal, or WhatsApp, your phone now gives you an easy way to stay on top of your NSSF account.

It is fast, convenient, and puts control of your retirement savings right in your hands.
