Mosiria shares the progress of another woman he rescued in Westlands
By David Nthua, November 16, 2025Geoffrey Mosiria, the Nairobi County’s Environment Chief Officer, has shared transformative photos of a woman he rescued from the streets of Westlands in Nairobi a few months ago.
Through his X account on Sunday, November 16 2025, Mosiria said that his mission had never been about publicity but about answering a calling to help someone society had long forgotten.

Mosiria roots for compassion
In his post, Mosiria revealed that the woman identified as Sangita had made remarkable progress since the day he took her from the streets.
He said many people had dismissed his decision by claiming it was a public relations performance meant to attract attention.
“When I took that step, many people said it was a PR stunt, kwamba ni vipindi tu. But I have always been clear that this was never about me. It was God using me as a vessel to rescue His child,” Mosiria wrote.
However, he reiterated that everything he did was guided by faith and by the belief that God uses people as vessels to offer help where it is needed most.
Mosiria added that true Christianity is not measured by how loudly one sings in church or the size of their offering.

Instead, it is reflected in how people treat the neglected and the vulnerable.
He noted that Sangita represented many individuals who suffer in silence despite being part of communities that often walk past them.
Transformation through rehab
Mosiria shared that he visited Sangita last Friday at Mother Teresa, where she is currently receiving treatment and rehabilitation.
He confirmed that she is responding well and has shown significant improvement in both her well-being and her confidence.
He said that for the first time in a long while, she now sleeps in a safe place with a roof over her head and people who genuinely care for her recovery.

According to Mosiria, this positive transformation is a reminder that even the smallest act of kindness can restore dignity and give someone another chance at life.
“I am happy to share that she is doing well. She has improved greatly because, for the first time in a long time, she has a safe place to sleep, a roof over her head, and people who care for her,” Mosiria wrote on X.
Mosiria concluded his message by noting the importance of updating Kenyans who had followed Sangita’s story from the moment she was rescued.
He expressed hope that her progress would inspire others to show compassion to those who suffer in silence and to offer support whenever they are able.
