Each holiday season, hundreds of families prepare to return to their communities and spend time with their loved ones.

Even still, a majority of them don’t realize how much more fun and frolic the village may provide than just the tranquillity.

Here are several activities to add some excitement to your time in the village during this festive season, ranging from hikes to picnics.

An abundance of stories to tell as you take the hike is an extra boost as it will keep you entertained throughout the walk.

Picnic

A picnic at a nearby field or at the back of a houseyard is one other way to maximise your experience in the village without spending a dime.

To make it super exciting, involve everyone when selecting the meal, ingredients and food preparation.

Storytelling

Telling or listening to stories is a budget-friendly way to enjoy your stay in the village without breaking the bank.

Whether it is old tales or stories from the city, storytelling will keep you and your family entertained without spending a coin.

Flower picking date

If you are a lover of flowers, this would be a fun and wonderful free activity to do. You may choose to hand-pick wildflowers in the village and make a bouquet for your house or place the flowers in a cardboard vase as shown below.
