YouTuber Kururia breaks silence on theft incident that happened after attending Karangu’s event
By Steve Ireri, January 14, 2026Kikuyu YouTuber Anthony Njonjo of the popular channel Kururia TV has narrated how he lost expensive gadgets in a car break-in after attending Karangu Muraya’s birthday celebration in Murang’a.
Speaking during an interview with fellow YouTuber Kikuyu Star in a video shared on TikTok on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, Kururia recalled that the incident occurred on the night of Sunday, January 11, 2026, shortly after he left Karangu’s event.
“So on Sunday, we were heading back from an event that was hosted by Karangu Muraya in Murang’a, and while on our way back, I remember it was around 9 pm,” he said.

He narrated that he was travelling back from the event at around 9 pm when he decided to stop near Murang’a Stage, where he parked his car while in the company of his director.
Kururia explained that after spending the entire day at the birthday celebration, he and his director felt tired and agreed to step out briefly to take tea before continuing with their journey.
“I parked my car near Murang’a Stage, and I was with my director. We decided to go somewhere and have some tea because we had spent the whole day at the event in Murang’a,” he added.
The content creator revealed that upon returning to the vehicle, he noticed that one of the car doors had not closed properly, prompting him to check the interior.
Kururia shared that he discovered a bag inside the car that appeared to have blocked the door from shutting fully, raising concerns about the security of the vehicle.
He stated that it was during this check that he realised some of his belongings were missing from the car.
“When we came back, we realised that one of the car doors had not closed properly. We found that a bag inside the car had prevented the door from closing well,” he said.
Kururia revealed that he usually carries two phones, an iPhone 16 and an iPhone 12 Pro Max, and noted that the iPhone 12 Pro Max, which he used more frequently, had been stolen.
He further shared that a camera, which had also been inside the vehicle, was taken during the same incident.
“I usually have two iPhones, an iPhone 16 and an iPhone 12 Pro Max, and the iPhone 12 Pro Max is the one I use the most. That phone was stolen during that incident, together with my camera,” Kururia said.
Kururia explained that he was left confused by how the thieves accessed the car, noting that there were no visible signs of forced entry and that nothing appeared broken.
He questioned whether he may have failed to close the door properly or whether the vehicle had been accessed using another method.
“What I do not understand is whether I forgot to close the door properly or whether someone used another way to unlock the car, because there was nothing broken when they gained access,” he said.
Appeal over stolen gadgets
Kururia then explained that the burglary was the reason he recently made a post on social media announcing a Ksh10,000 reward for anyone who would help recover the gadgets, particularly the iPhone.
He explained that iPhones are difficult to use without the correct passwords and Apple ID credentials, making them useless to anyone who cannot access them.
“That is why I wrote on social media that I would reward anyone who finds the iPhone and brings it back to me with Ksh10,000,” he said.

Kururia appealed directly to whoever took the items, asking them to return the phone and camera instead of attempting to sell or use them.
He expressed hope that the appeal would encourage the person responsible to do the right thing and bring the items back.
“An iPhone is not a phone you can use if you do not have the passwords, so if you are the one who took the items, please give them back to me,” he said.
