Naiyanoi Ntutu Ng’eno, the widow of the late Emurua Dikir Member of Parliament Johana Ng’eno, has said that the latter was her first love.

Filled with emotions and tears flowing uncontrollably, Naiyanoi Ntutu, on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, for the first time in her life publicly confessed her love towards the late lawmaker.

The late MP is among the six who perished during a plane crash in Nandi on February 28, 2026.

She was speaking during a joint requiem service held at Africa Gospel Church in Karen, Nairobi, where family, friends and leaders gathered to mourn the MP and five other people who died in a helicopter crash on Saturday, February 28, 2026, in Nandi County.

Soft spoken but strong, Naiyanoi stood before the mourners and paid tribute to the man she lovingly called Joha.

She recalled the early years of their relationship when they were both young and still learning life together. According to her, Ng’eno’s love made their journey feel less frightening and more hopeful.

“You are the love of my early days, when everything was still soft and full of possibility. We were young, learning life together, and somehow you made it all feel less frightening and more beautiful. Your love, oh your love, made all the early days feel like a celebration,” she said.

Naiyanoi also spoke warmly about the kind of father the late MP was to their children. She said he loved them deeply and treated them as the greatest gift in his life.

“The way you loved your children, adored them. You held them with pride. You played with them. You looked at them like they were your greatest accomplishments. In their eyes, you were a hero. In mine, you were a gentle, devoted father with the biggest heart,” she added.

Her voice trembled as she spoke about the deep pain of losing a person she had shared many years of life with.

“Losing you feels like losing the music of my youth, the laughter, the dreams, the simplicity of believing we had endless time. But even death cannot take what we built. It cannot erase the love, the memories, the family we created,” she said.

Despite the grief, Naiyanoi said the love they shared will remain alive through their family and memories.

“You’ll always be my Joha. Rest gently, my love. You’re forever part of me,” she concluded.

The requiem mass marked the first major public farewell for the late MP and the other victims of the helicopter crash.

Their bodies are expected to be airlifted to Emurua Dikirr, where residents will get an opportunity to pay their last respects before burial.
