Musician Savara Mudigi has praised media personality Tony Mwirigi for buying his first car entirely in cash, without taking any loans.

Speaking on Milele FM on Friday, February 20, 2026, Savara said he admired Mwirigi for celebrating the milestone, calling it a true Kenyan story. He urged people to recognise and celebrate their achievements, no matter how big or small.

Savara said the example is important for young Kenyans, encouraging them to celebrate their successes and take pride in what they earn through effort.

“I like the fact that you celebrated that milestone. Wewe ni mnoma. I saw the story, and I was like why don’t we celebrate this? It’s a true Kenyan story. We should celebrate ourselves,” Savara stated.

Mwirigi, who cannot shut up about his achievement since acquiring his Mazda Atenza, revealed that he bought the car for over Ksh1 million, funding it entirely with his savings. He highlighted that achieving such a milestone without borrowing money shows hard work, discipline, and self-reliance.

“Ukinunua ata simu na pesa yako, celebrate it. Mimi nilinunua gari yangu over Ksh1 million in cash, gari yangu haina loan. Nilienda events kama MC na nduthi,” Mwirigi stated.

Mwirigi took his car to St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Ruiru for a blessing on Sunday, December 28, 2025. The priest prayed and sprinkled holy water, dedicating the car for all his journeys and wishing him growth and opportunities.

Mwirigi paid over Ksh1 million in cash for the 2017, 2000 cc vehicle, emphasising there were no sponsorships involved.

“That I paid in CASH with No Paid Paid partnership to God🙏❤️My Heart is Happy Today NI GOD SIKU ZOMBO,” he said.

Announcing the purchase earlier on December 21, Mwirigi described it as his first car at age 27 and credited God for answering his prayers. “My First Car at 27-New Mazda Atenza Owner… I prayed for it,” he wrote. While grateful, he revealed his ultimate dream car is still a Mercedes-Benz. “Just a Reminder… But The Dream Will always be Mercedes,” he added.
