‘Wanafaa kueka elections kesho’ – Octopizzo says after deadly Nairobi floods
Kenyan rapper Octopizzo has slammed both the national government and the county government of Nairobi over the recent floods in the city, fingering the leadership at the two levels for failing Kenyans.
According to the rapper, the ongoing rains have exposed Governor Sakaja’s administration, proving that the narrative that things are working is just a façade given recent realities.
He noted that the floods have not only exposed the cost of poor planning but also the lack of preparedness by both the national and the county governments.

@OCTOPIZZO
“This rainy season and the devastating floods have exposed a painful truth about our city leadership and government at large: the deadly cost of poor planning and a complete lack of preparedness when it comes to protecting human life,” he wrote on X on Thursday, March 12, 2026.
‘Honest problem’
While appearing to back a complete overhaul of leadership at both levels, Octopizzo expressed his eagerness to have elections conducted, stating that it should be as soon as the next day.
“Wanafaa kueka elections kesho,” he stated.
The rapper has been dismantling narratives peddled by Governor Johnson Sakaja in the wake of the fatal floods, insisting that the city cannot continue being filthy with mere excuses such as underfunding.
“If Nairobi collects about Ksh13.8 billion a year, then we have to ask an honest question. Are our problems really about resources, or about how those resources are managed?” Octopizzo wrote in response to Skaja’s claims that the county government is underfunded.
Billions with little show
“Because if billions are coming in every year, residents deserve to see functioning drainage, better roads, cleaner streets, and reliable services.”

“Leadership today is not just about saying there isn’t enough money. It’s about showing the people where the money is going and why the city still struggles with problems we’ve faced for years,” he added.
