‘Tuliwaachia Kilimani’ – Rish Kamunge voices concern over rising number of Nigerians in Ruiru
Tiktoker Rish Kamunge has lamented the rising number of Nigerian nationals moving to live and rent houses in areas like Ruiru and Kimbo, unlike Kilimani and Roysambu, where they are predominantly based.
Speaking in a TikTok video on Sunday, March 15, 2026, Kamunge expressed her shock at discovering that all four corner neighbours in her area are Nigerian nationals, noting that she was unaware of when they had moved in.
She described the situation as overwhelming and said it has disrupted the peace in her neighbourhood.
“Nigerians in Kenya, we left Roysambu and Kilimani for you. What are you doing in Kimbo with those big slippers you like to wear? What are you doing in these places, including Toll?” she said.
Kamunge highlighted the daily challenges caused by noise, explaining that the constant commotion at night has affected her and her neighbours’ ability to rest.
She also criticised the behaviour and cultural habits of some of the new residents, referencing their choice of oversized slippers and other personal habits that she described as unusual in the local context.
“I was shocked this morning to discover that all four of my corner neighbours are Nigerian nationals, and I am not exaggerating or angry. Now we deal with noise every night; we don’t even get proper sleep because they are always making noise,” she added.

She further noted that the influx of Nigerian nationals is so apparent that even her social media feeds, particularly TikTok’s For You Page, are dominated by videos of Nigerians sharing their experiences of living in Kenya.
Kamunge argued that this prevalence on digital platforms reflects the growing presence of Nigerians in neighbourhoods outside the traditional hubs of Kilimani and Roysambu.
“I don’t know when they moved here. Please let them go back to their country; it is too much. Even my TikTok For You Page shows it; every time I scroll, I see videos of Nigerians sharing their experiences in Kenya. Please, let us breathe,” she said.
TikToker’s warning
Speaking in a live hosted by TikToker Collins Omondi on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, Rish explained that she usually participates in fundraising campaigns whenever someone is hospitalised or in need, claiming that she has never donated less than Ksh10,000 to any cause.
She expressed confidence that people would respond to her current request for help, despite acknowledging criticisms of her past.
“I usually come through whenever you guys tell me that someone is in the hospital and needs a donation. I usually join the fundraisers, and every time, I have never given anyone we were donating for anything below Ksh10,000,” Rish said.

The appeal, however, quickly attracted backlash from TikTok users who reminded her of her past fraudulent activities.
One TikToker highlighted that some people continue to suffer because of scams she was involved in, with some even selling land to raise funds after being promised jobs abroad that never materialised.
The user emphasised that the emotional and financial pain inflicted on these victims has persisted, casting doubt on Rish’s current fundraising efforts.
“Do you know some people are still crying to this day because of the scams you put them through? Some even sold land to get money after you promised them jobs abroad, and now they only cry because you scammed them,” the TikToker who was using the handle @thedon said.
