Kenyan environmental activist and Guinness World Record holder Truphena Muthoni has announced that she will attempt two Guinness World Records in 2026, saying both challenges will involve mass action.

The environmental activist said she believes in herself and encourages others to take charge of their dreams without waiting for permission. Truphena said confidence and self-belief are key to achieving big goals.

“I can say this year we also have two Guinness World Record attempts that involve mass action,” she said during an interview on Saturday, March 7, 2026.

She added that believing in yourself inspires others to believe in you as well. Truphena explained that taking initiative and claiming your space is important for anyone wanting to make an impact.

The activist also spoke about her inspirations and long-term goals. Truphena said she draws motivation from her role model, Wangari Maathai, and aims to leave a lasting legacy through her work and achievements.

“My greatest dream is to leave a legacy,” she said.

Speaking out on mental health

This announcement comes after Truphena opened up about living with panic disorder. Speaking during an interview with government spokesman Isaac Mwaura on Tuesday night, February 3, 2026, she shared her personal experience and the challenges she faces. Truphena said her decision to speak publicly is part of her effort to raise awareness about mental health issues.

“Yes, I’m a mental health survivor and also living with panic disorder. So it’s also a personal story,” she said.

She explained that panic disorder can appear unexpectedly and does not always have a specific cause.

“Anyone can panic anytime, but it becomes medically a disorder when it persists, like for years, and then, yeah, you’re diagnosed,” Truphena added.

Truphena said she hopes sharing her story will encourage others to seek help and understand that mental health conditions are manageable. She stressed that pursuing one’s goals is still possible despite these challenges. Her upcoming Guinness World Record attempts reflect her determination to inspire and leave a positive mark both locally and globally.

Truphena continues to be an influential figure in environmental activism and social advocacy. She remains committed to using her platform to create awareness, break stigmas, and encourage people to believe in themselves and take action toward achieving their dreams.
