Kenyan actress Trisha Khalid has shared a strong message directed at women dating men with children who are not living with them, urging them to support, rather than interfere with, a father’s responsibility to his child.

Speaking candidly in a video shared on her official social media channels on Friday, May 15, 2026, Trisha encouraged women to approach relationships with single fathers in a way that prioritises the well-being of the child involved.

The actress also urged them not to be the reason they turn into deadbeats.

“My beautiful ladies, come here; let’s talk. If you decide to date someone’s baby daddy, if you decide to be with someone who has a child out there, please encourage him to keep on taking care of his child; do not be the reason as to why he stops or he changes,” Trisha said.

Trisha emphasised that in many cases, a man’s commitment to his child can shift once he enters a new relationship, something she believes should not happen.

“In most cases, immediately after this man gets into a new relationship, things change, Kama alikuwa ni mtu wa kuangalia mtoto wake things change like kusaidia mtoto inakuwa ni hustle, that is not how it should be,” she added.

She went on to urge women to take an active role in supporting responsible fatherhood, rather than discouraging it.

“Be the first advocate wa yeye kuangalia mtoto wake, the same way you would want your child to be looked after if such a thing happened,” Trisha stated.

Dating a baby daddy

Dating someone who already has a child is becoming increasingly common, especially in today’s blended family structures. But relationships involving a baby daddy often come with unique emotional dynamics, responsibilities, and expectations that can shape how the relationship develops.

At the center of it all is the child. When a man is already a father, his responsibility does not end with a new romantic relationship. Instead, it becomes part of a wider balancing act between parenting, co-parenting, and building a new partnership.

For women dating fathers, communication becomes essential. Questions around time, finances, visitation, and co-parenting arrangements are not just optional discussions, they are central to avoiding conflict later on.
