Toxic Lyrikali denies beefing with any Kenyan musician

Rapper Toxic Lyrikali has addressed ongoing online chatter about his rivalry with fellow musicians, insisting he holds no grudges and has no ongoing beef with any artist in the industry.

In an Instagram post on Wednesday, January 7, 2025, Toxic called out musicians who talk too much online but lack substance when confronted in person.

In his post, he criticised them for being loud online but unable to back it up in person. He wrote that face-to-face, his opponents fall short, saying, “Face to face hamwezi niambia kitu .”

He also stated that the “beef” with some of these artists, including Tipsy Gee and Fathermoh, had ended last year. According to him, he has no ongoing grudges: “Kulingana na mimi majua sina beef na mtu yoyote.”

Toxic further jabbed Fathermoh, implying that he and his crew ran away when confronted in person, despite recently releasing a diss track targeting Toxic.

FatherMoh’s diss

The statements come a day after Gengetone artiste Father Moh released a diss track targeting Toxic Lyrikali, taking shots at his career and mocking his lack of international shows.

The cover of the track featured an AI-generated image of Toxic as a child, adding a mocking, playful edge to the attack.

In the song, Fathermoh questions Lyrikali’s global reach with lines such as, “Passport imejaa? Unabamba tu watu wa mtaa,” suggesting that Toxic’s popularity is largely local.

The release added fuel to a long-standing rivalry that has simmered between the two artists for months.

Tipsy Gee beef

The exchange also follows an earlier viral incident where Tipsy Gee appeared to shade Toxic in a trending skit. In the clip, Tipsy was inside a car while actors labelled as Toxic Lyrikali and Fathermoh rode boda bodas (nduthis).

The setup implied that Toxic and his crew were struggling to match Tipsy’s energy and presence, a jab that did not go unnoticed by fans.

In response, Toxic dismissed Tipsy Gee’s online influence, insisting that social media clout does not equate to musical dominance.

He argued that his credibility in the rap scene carries more weight than online content, reinforcing his stance as an artist committed to authentic, hard-hitting rap.
