The beef between Toxic Lyrikali and Buruklyn Boyz came alive on Monday, February 23, 2026, during Nairobi County Chief Officer for Citizen Engagement and Customer Service, Geoffrey Mosiria’s hangout with the youth.

Mosiria met a group of youth at Nairobi’s Uhuru Park and shared their interaction in a video, which he shared online.

The ongoing beef between the music heavyweights dominated the conversation, with the youths picking their side and defending their choice.

The youth from Mathare, Kayole Umoja and South B declared their support for Toxic Lyrikali, stating that they support the rapper, explaining that he represents their aspirations and showing that hard work is the way.

Leo nikiwa Uhuru Park, nilikutana na hawa mavijana nawakaniambia the love they have for our local artists. It’s good kuona youth wakisupport local talent na kuamini kwao. Supporting our own is how we grow our industry and create opportunities.

Mosiria calls for peaceful resolution as beef rages on

Earlier in the day, Mosiria urged the rival factions to settle their beef without violence, insisting that it should be fought on the airwaves and in the studios with talent and music without extending to violence.

While responding to an Instagram post shared on Monday, February 23, 2026, highlighting chaos caused by the ongoing beef, Mosiria made it clear that the matter should not escalate beyond lyrical exchanges.

Hii beef niliimaliza na isikue physical. Watu waingie studio warushe mistari kama more serious bila chuki (Let the beef not go physical. People should head to the studio and release music with love)” Mosiria urged.

Origin of the beef

The beef started when Toxic Lyrikali, who calls himself the ‘King of Kayole’, went live on Instagram in an emotional session.

During the live broadcast, he accused the Buruklyn Boyz, made up of Ajay and Mr Right, of copying his style to benefit from his success.

Sasa hawa majamaa wameanza ku mimic kila kitu nafanya (Now these guys have started mimicking everything I do),” Toxic said. “They are just jumping on the dancehall trend because they’ve seen how I’ve built that ground. Wanakosa originality.”

Mr Right responded swiftly, dismissing Toxic and asserting that as a creative, he cannot be confined to one sound.

“I am a versatile artist. My creative freedom cannot be confined to one sound,” he fired back.

Reports of a violent confrontation in Donholm added another layer to the beef, with the county official wading into the beef after the rappers dragged his name into the feud without his consent with diss tracks coming out.
