TikToker Captain Sammir hints he will vie for Kisii gubernatorial seat in 2027

USA-based Kenyan TikToker Captain Sammir has hinted that he may be among those on the ballot in 2027, seeking a chance to become Kisii County’s next governor.

Speaking during a TikTok Live on Thursday, March 19, 2026, while clapping back at a section of people who had urged him to seek forgiveness over past claims he made about a man having an affair with his wife, Sammir insisted that a man of his calibre cannot stoop to such levels.

During the live session, Sammir expressed outrage at calls for him to apologise, saying he could not understand why he was being asked to seek forgiveness from someone he accuses of having an affair with his wife.

“Imagine being told to go and apologise to a man who slept with your wife. A man who had an affair with my wife, and now I am being told to go and apologise to him because I came out and said it,” Sammir said.

He questioned the logic behind being told to apologise for speaking out about what he maintains are factual claims.

He maintained that he stands by his statements, insisting that what he said was the truth and not something he would retract.

Sammir challenged those disputing his claims to take legal action instead of pressuring him to apologise, stating that he is ready to present evidence in court to prove his innocence.

“Do you really think, with all my ego, my beard, and my right mind, I would go and do that? I am Captain, the next governor of Kisii County, and I cannot lower myself to such levels. Apologise for what? What I said is a fact. Take me to court if you think I am lying and if you believe I have no proof. If they think I have no evidence, let them go to court, and I will prove my innocence,” Sammir said.

According to him, it was suspicious that those involved had resorted to issuing threats and demanding an apology rather than pursuing the matter legally if they believed he was in the wrong.

He further claimed that some individuals had threatened to escalate the matter by involving the Kenyan embassy to investigate how he relocated to the United States.

“I am even wondering why they have resorted to threatening me and asking for an apology instead of taking me to court. They are even saying they will go to the Kenyan embassy to investigate how I came to the US,” Sammir lamented.

Sammir also turned the spotlight on one of his critics, claiming that the individual had questionable personal matters that should instead be the subject of scrutiny.

He claimed the person had relationships in both the United States and Kenya, suggesting that such issues deserved more attention than the accusations being directed at him.

“That same lady who is among those threatening me has one husband in the US and another here in Kenya. Who really needs to be investigated? Is it not that lady?” he added.

Additionally, the TikToker addressed concerns raised about his identity, explaining that he had changed his name willingly and within the law. He dismissed criticism surrounding the name change, stating that it was his right to do so.

“They also started questioning why I changed my name. I changed it because it is my right to do so,” he said.
