In an Instagram post on Sunday, February 15, 2026, he shared the moment and reflected on the emotional encounter. Bahati described feeling both relief and confusion after finally meeting the woman, acknowledging that the encounter left him with more questions than answers.
He expressed that, while he was grateful to have met her, he was still trying to process the emotional complexity of the situation.

The singer admitted he was surprised by the situation, as he had always believed his mother had passed away more than 25 years ago and that he had personally attended her burial as a child.
While he has said he may pursue a DNA test to confirm the claim, he emphasised the need to handle the matter carefully for the sake of his family.
