Veteran Tanzanian rapper Rashid Abdallah Makwiro, widely known as Chidi Benz, has disclosed the hidden dangers in the music industry, revealing that some artistes unknowingly get involved in black magic.

Speaking during an interview with media personality Chris the Bass, Chidi Benz said that he personally would never allow his child to pursue a music career, describing the industry as “strange” and filled with hidden challenges.

He explained that while some people like him have natural talent and can sing, write, or flow on their own, others are required to make significant sacrifices, often including practices that go against their beliefs.

He stressed that many musicians are driven by worldly desires and unknowingly recruited into ungodly activities, adding that some are dedicating themselves to different things they are told to do, sometimes against their faith, believing it will make them successful.

However, he says, they do not realise the consequences.

“Wanajitolea kwa kuamini vitu vingi vya kidunia, imani tofauti tofauti wanaambiwa fanya hivi,”he said.

When asked whether there is the use of black magic in the music industry, the ‘Popompoo’ hitmaker said that every sector has witchcraft, adding that some people enter without knowing what they are getting into because they believe it will bring them wealth and fans.

He added that at the end their life gets ruined because the power of black magic does not last for long.

Kila sehemu inaushirikina, ushirikina upo kila sehemu, na kuna watu wanaingia hawajui hawajui wanaingia nini kwani wanaamini wakifanya hivyo atakuwa sawa, atapata pesa na mashabiki, inaenda hivyo lakini baadaye inakuwa haidumu,” he explained.
