Tanzanian influencer Chief Godlove explains who qualifies for his music career sponsorship

Speaking in a TikTok video on Thursday, February 26, 2026, the self-proclaimed billionaire announced that his label had officially opened its doors to young men and women with talent in singing and rap.
However, he made it clear that not everyone would qualify, stressing that only those who meet specific standards will be considered.
“Speaking as the director of Chief Loot Music, a few days ago we released a statement on our page announcing that we are opening opportunities for young women and men who can sing or rap, those who truly have talent,” he said.
According to the influencer, the first requirement is mental stability, noting that age is not a major factor in the selection process.
He added that potential signees must also possess a strong artistic presence, an intangible quality that makes it easy to envision them as successful performers with the right guidance and branding.
“The first requirement for anyone we can accept is that they must be mentally sound. Age is not really an issue. Secondly, they must have an artistic appearance, someone you can look at and see that, with proper transformation, they can become an artiste,” he added.
Beyond talent and appearance, discipline emerged as the most critical factor.
Godlove emphasised that he places a high value on good conduct and respect, warning that he would not admit individuals who lack discipline into his record label.
He specifically ruled out working with individuals he described as having questionable behaviour, including those involved in excessive drinking or immoral conduct.
His goal, he explained, is to build a professional and focused team that can positively influence the industry.
“But more important than everything else is discipline, and I take that very seriously as a form of respect. At my record label, I cannot accept someone who lacks discipline. That means I will not take in someone who is a drunkard, someone involved in prostitution, or anyone whose behaviour is not appealing. I want to change the game because I have seen that the hip-hop scene has really gone down. “I want to revive it and also bring more energy to Bongo Flava,” he stated.
The Chief Loot Music director revealed that he currently has four available slots for new artistes, but two have already been taken.
One of the selected individuals is a young, promising talent from Tanga who has already impressed him with exceptional ability.
The second is an established hip-hop artiste whom he believes has the potential to significantly transform the genre across East Africa.
“I currently have four slots available, but two are already taken. One is a young man from Tanga who has shown great talent, and I have been following him closely, so I am taking him in. The other is a hip-hop artiste, a big artiste, who I believe has the potential to change the hip-hop game in East Africa,” he said.
Godlove expressed concern over the current state of hip-hop in the region, noting that the genre appears to have lost momentum in countries such as Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.
“Right now, when I look at the hip-hop scene in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda, it is really down,” Chief said.
