‘Sleep is gone’ – Chiki Kuruka reveals the pressure behind Bien’s album planning

Wife and manager to Music superstar Bien-Aimé Baraza, Chiki Kuruka has shared an emotional update about the intense sacrifices involved in preparing her husband’s upcoming album.
In an Instagram story posted on Saturday, April 11, 2026, Chiki opened up about struggling with severe insomnia, revealing she has been surviving on a maximum of just three hours of sleep per night for the past week.
“Anyone who understands insomnia as a condition will get it,” she wrote. “The moment there is stuff going on, not necessarily bad stuff, just a lot on the mind, sleep goes.”
Chiki explained that the non-stop planning for Bien’s new project has taken a serious toll on both her mental and physical health. She also mentioned that her morning training sessions are now leaving her body in pain due to extreme fatigue.

“Thank God for Soca music, which always wakes me up,” she added, crediting the energetic Caribbean genre for helping her push through the exhaustion.
Love, dedication and sacrifice
Despite the challenges, Chiki expressed deep love and pride for the project. “Bien’s album planning is taking ALL of me,” she said. “But the music is incredible, and the man is literally my whole heart.”
She also assured fans that when the album finally drops, they will feel the amount of love, time, and energy invested behind the scenes.
“What keeps me going is the knowledge that it’s WORTH it,” she wrote.

This update comes at the height of the massive success of Bien’s latest single “Finale”, a collaboration with Tanzanian superstar Alikiba.
Released on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, the official music video has gone viral, smashing records by reaching over 13 million views on YouTube in less than three weeks.
It became one of the fastest Kenyan songs to hit 10 million views and has dominated trending charts in both Kenya and Tanzania.
