Digital content creator and stand-up comedian Sheryl Gabriella has spoken out against the misguided advice she has received regarding her battle with ovarian cysts.

In a video on her official Instagram account, hours after asking for help to permanently treat the ovarian cyst, she expressed frustration over people suggesting that giving birth would be a cure for her condition.

“These people who are suggesting that I should give birth to heal a cyst – hello, no, no,” Gabriella said firmly, rejecting the misconception that childbirth can serve as a treatment for ovarian cysts.

Surgery option

The content creator also mentioned that many had recommended surgery as the most effective solution and that she intended to consult a gynaecologist to make the necessary plans.

She expressed her gratitude for the suggestions.

“Most of you have suggested surgery as the best option. I’ll visit a gynaecologist and plan for it. Thanks,” she added.

Battling ovarian cyst

This comes hours after she opened up about her difficult journey with ovarian cysts, revealing the physical pain and emotional strain she has endured.

In a video shared on her official Instagram account on Sunday, January 4, 2026, she described visiting multiple hospitals, trying different treatments, and still experiencing recurring cysts and unbearable pain.

She explained that some doctors told her the cysts would disappear on their own, but repeated flare-ups have left her frustrated and exhausted.

In addition, Gabriella says that, even after trying multiple treatments, the recurring cysts continue to cause her unbearable pain.

“I need help, anyone who has ever dealt with ovarian cyst please help me tell me the permanent solution to this thing, because I have been to different hospitals; they keep treating it, and it keeps coming back. Some hospitals tell me it will disappear, but it keeps coming back, and it is so painful; it is so unbearable pain,” Gabriella opened up.

In addition, she asked others how they had managed to treat ovarian cysts permanently, explaining that the pain had become unbearable.

“What have you guys done to deal with it permanently, to treat it permanently, because I’m dying here,” she asked.

What is an ovarian cyst?

An ovarian cyst is a fluid-filled sac that develops on or inside an ovary, and it’s a fairly common condition among women of reproductive age.

While many ovarian cysts are harmless and may go away on their own, some can cause symptoms such as abdominal pain, bloating, irregular periods, or discomfort during daily activities.
