The 52nd American Music Awards took place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and were hosted by legendary rapper and actress Queen Latifah. The ceremony featured performances from several major stars and celebrated some of the biggest names in global music.

While full details of Shakira’s wins continued to excite fans online, the singer has remained one of the most celebrated Latin artists in AMAs history. Over the years, she has built a reputation for effortlessly crossing language and cultural barriers, turning Spanish-language music into a global force long before it became mainstream in the United States.

Shakira’s latest victory adds another chapter to a career that has stretched across more than three decades. The singer first rose to fame in Latin America as a teenager before exploding onto the international scene in the early 2000s with hits like Whenever, Wherever and Hips Don’t Lie. Since then, she has sold millions of records worldwide and collected countless awards along the way.

The Colombian superstar has also enjoyed a strong comeback period in recent years. Her album Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran earned widespread attention and even won Best Latin Pop Album during her career resurgence.
