Savara’s warm interaction leaves Dem wa Facebook emotional after historic Vulai Festival
By Steve Ireri, December 29, 2025Kitale-born comedienne Dem wa Facebook has shared an emotional reflection following her participation in the Vulai Festival, revealing that a warm interaction with Kenyan musician Savara Mundigi left her deeply moved.
In a post shared on Facebook on Sunday, December 28, 2025, Dem wa Facebook said the festival marked a defining moment in her career, noting that she initially hesitated to accept an invitation to host the event due to concerns about politics often associated with home-ground functions.
“Yesterday I saw God in action, and history was made. Let me now share the story. When I first received a call from Val of Madada Events to be part of the Vulai Festival, I was very hesitant because I knew that politics often get involved in local events,” she wrote.

She explained that after consulting with her management and the organisers, she agreed to take part, only for her fears to materialise when criticism and political undertones surfaced shortly after promotional posters were released.
Despite the backlash, she said she remained focused and went beyond her contractual role as an MC by personally travelling across five counties in Western Kenya to promote the festival.
“However, after sitting down with my management and the three amazing ladies, we decided to go ahead. Once the poster was released, true to my fears, political attacks began almost immediately. But as you know, if there is one thing this young girl from Sikhendu never does, it is get discouraged. I personally travelled to all five counties in the Western region—Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia and Trans Nzoia—to shoot promotional materials for this event,” the comedienne wrote.
The festival eventually drew thousands of revellers, with Dem wa Facebook saying the turnout brought the Mulembe nation to a standstill, a success she attributed to teamwork, faith and persistence.
“For your information, I was only paid to emcee the event, but at some point, people thought I was being paid as an influencer. I knew it was not my event, but these three amazing young ladies had to succeed. I saw their dedication, determination and hard work. I believed in their vision, and yes, yesterday they made it happen. The Mulembe nation came to a standstill. Thousands of people converged in a “forest”, as they called it, just to have a good time,” she added.

Savara’s approval
A video later shared by the influencer captured a heartwarming moment between her and Savara during the event, showing the two engaged in a brief conversation before the musician hugged her and kissed her on the head.
She described the interaction as a blessing and a form of validation, saying it strengthened her belief that her work was being recognised beyond local spaces.
“A good time was had at the Vulai Festival, and as you all can see, when God plans something, no one can change it. Once again, people of INGO, thank you very, very much. Do not let me handle this on my own, please. And know that Savara has already blessed me; now it’s time to cross borders,” she wrote.
